...in February, my last trip of the year was to Hawai'i. I have a friend who lives there with his family, so I have a place to stay. Anyways, I arrived at Honolulu at night. Literally the next morning, Texas had one of its heaviest snow storms on record. Talk about timing! So while I was enjoying 86 degree weather, people back home were scraping a foot of snow off cars.
I had a blast while I was there. We did have a few flirts with "death", but all in all it was the best trip ever. Here is a panoramic picture I took while we were scaling down to see a crater. That's Eric on the right taking some sweet shots with his camera.
It was pretty crazy, really. You actually have to drive up to the clouds to get the starting point. It took about 2 hours to go down, rest, and then 2 hours back up. The last 30 min though were spent in complete darkness, with only my phone to see where I was going. What made it really eerie is knowing that there is nothing out there except you and the path. No animals, no insects, nothing. Fun stuff, though.
The great thing about working is obviously the money and just having something to do. Only thing is having to wake up early, and not getting home until dinner time. At least it is fun, like I said, and I get to buy stuff/go to places. Anywho, off to bed, probably play TradeNations before then (very addicting).
Photo-of-the-day is another panoramic of the crater area. This is before we really got into the hike, so I was not tired then.
